Apple Custard Tart
Serves 4
Ingredients:
1 prepared pie crust
2 lbs apples, peeled and sliced
¼ cup sugar
6 crisp lady fingers, broken into 1-inch pieces
2 large eggs, lightly beaten
½ cup heavy cream
3 Tbsp powdered sugar
½ tsp vanilla extract
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350
- Mix apples with sugar
- place crust in an 11-inch removable bottom tart pan and scatter lady-fingers in a single layer over the crust. Spread apples and over ladyfingers
- Bake 15-20 minutes until the apples are cooked.
- Combine eggs with cream; add powdered sugar and vanilla. Pour egg mixture over apples.
- Bake 15-25 minutes, or until custard is set.
